Union calls Caterpillar CEO's salary increase 'shameful and unwarranted'
The United Steelworkers union on Tuesday denounced Caterpillar Inc. CEO Doug OberhelmanÃ¢;Â€Â™s 32 percent compensation increase in 2012 as Ã¢;Â€Âoe;shameful and unwarranted.Ã¢;Â€Â;
Dow Jones reported that Oberhelman received $22.4 million in compensation last year, up from $16.9 million the year before. Read more about that here.
The disclosure comes amidst a challenging quarter financially for the company and an ongoing labor dispute in South Milwaukee, where USW Local 1343 represents 803 Caterpillar workers.
