MLB commissioner Bud Selig to retire
Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig announced Thursday that he will retire upon the completion of his current term, which runs through Jan. 24, 2015.
Selig, whose family owned the Milwaukee Brewers for decades, has been MLB commissioner since September 1992. His daughter, Wendy, ran the Brewers until the Selig family sold the team to Los Angeles financial investor Mark Attanasio in 2004.
