Online banking uses several methods to protect your account information.
Although we have taken every precaution to assure account security, we are not liable for a breach of security that occurs for reasons outside of our control. Follow the steps below for added security.
First Business Bank recognizes and respects the privacy of your confidential information. We have made a commitment to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information. There are a number of components that ensure the confidentiality of information sent across the Internet.
Browser encryption requires the use of a 128-bit secure, Javascript enabled browser to login to your account and perform transactions.
We provide a private and secure environment in which to conduct online banking transactions. We require you to use a fully SSL-compliant browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 4.0 or higher) or Netscape Navigator (version 4.0 or higher). You may download the latest version of either of these browsers.
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is an open protocol that allows a user's browser to establish a secure channel for communicating with the server. SSL utilizes highly effective cryptography techniques between the browser and server to ensure that the information being passed is authentic, cannot be deciphered and has not been altered. SSL also utilizes a digitally signed certificate which ensures that you are communicating with our service provider and not a third party trying to intercept the information. SSL uses the following components of secure online transactions:
Authentication - This ensures that you are communicating with the correct server. This prevents another computer from impersonating First Business Bank.
Message Integrity- This verifies that the information sent by you to First Business Bank wasn't altered during the transfer. When a message is sent, the sending and receiving computers each generate a code based on the message content. If content is altered en route, the receiving computer will generate a different code, and then alert the recipient that the message is not legitimate.
Ensure Privacy- Our online banking product utilizes global encryption which uses digital certificates to protect your information from interception during Internet transmission. SSL encrypts all information exchanged between the web server and customers, using a unique session key. To securely transmit the session key to the consumer, our server encrypts it with our public key. Each session key is used only once, during a single session.
Support for nonrepudiation- Digital certificates validate their users' identities, making it nearly impossible to later repudiate a digitally "signed" transaction.
The padlock or key icon on your browser will appear after you are successfully logged in to the Internet Banking website. This padlock indicates a secure connection. Any screen which displays or requests information about your account, username, password, or other confidential information is encrypted.
