Wisconsin legislators unveil venture capital bill to invest in startups
Wisconsin legislators announced a long-awaited venture capital bill Wednesday that is smaller in scale than a proposal from the the last legislative session but that leaders say has a better chance of passing.
Gov. Scott Walker proposed $25 million in venture capital funds in his biennial budget. The bill unveiled Wednesday sets down the rules for managing those funds to invest in Wisconsin startups, said Sen. Alberta Darling (R-River Hills).
