MPS extends superintendent Thornton's contract to 2016
The Milwaukee Public Schools Board has extended Milwaukee Public Schools superintendent Gregory ThorntonÃ¢;Â€Â™s contract through 2016, a district spokesman said Friday.
ThorntonÃ¢;Â€Â™s salary and benefits under the next contract werenÃ¢;Â€Â™t immediately available, spokesman Tony Tagliavia said. His previous salary was $265,000. The board approved the contract extension Thursday night.
Thornton joined the district in 2010 and has been popular with the Milwaukee business community, although how long he willÃ¢;Â€Â¦;
