Journal execs Smith, Brenner see dips in total compensation

Journal Communications Inc. CEO Steve Smith and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel publisher Betsy Brenner both saw their total compensation decline in 2012 and their salaries remained frozen, according to the Milwaukee-based media companyâ;€™s proxy filing.

The companyâ;€™s (NYSE: JRN) compensation committee elected to freeze the two executives’ base salaries for the fourth consecutive year, the recently filed proxy statement said.

Smithâ;€™s salary remained at $752,000 but his non-equity incentive paymentâ;€¦;
