Early promotions, slow growth expected for holiday shopping season
An early prediction for the holiday shopping season isnÃ¢;Â€Â™t showing the kind of robust growth retailers hope for.
ShopperTrak, a retail research firm based in Chicago, is predicting retail sales to grow 2.4 percent in November and December, less than last yearÃ¢;Â€Â™s growth of 3 percent. But it expects shopper traffic to drop 1.4 percent.
The predictions are important to retailers such as Menomonee Falls-based KohlÃ¢;Â€Â™s Corp. and Milwaukee-based Bon-Ton Stores Inc. Both companies could use a standoutÃ¢;Â€Â¦;
