Individual Contributions
First Business and its 150 employees are involved in the community in many ways. A recent employee survey indicated First Business employees volunteer free time to 154 local organizations and sit on 76 local boards and committees. In 2007, First Business employees also made group contributions to United Way's Annual Day of Caring, held an indoor mini-golf tournament and chili cook-off in which the proceeds went to the 2007 United Way Annual Fundraising Campaign, organized a Holiday donation drive for St. Mary's Care Center, and organized a team for RiverWalk for Breast Cancer in Waukesha.
First Business was recently awarded a Wisconsin Corporate Citizenship Award by Corporate Report Magazine and Edgewood College in recognition for its community support and employee relations.
Corporate Contributions
Directors and staff of the bank wholeheartedly support making contributions to local charitable organizations in our market area. Our employees are approached individually by acquaintances, friends, and organizations and the giving process is difficult. In 2004, First Business established the First Business Charitable Foundation, Inc. to provide a funding mechanism and appropriate record keeping for the charitable contributions of three First Business entities: First Business Bank - Madison, First Business Bank - Milwaukee, and First Business Capital Corp.
Each entity has a corporate contributions committee that evaluates all requests for contributions and ensures that each need is given thoughtful consideration. All of our funds are earmarked for local charitable causes, with grants made to not-for-profit entities.
