Richard Thompson is a Relationship Manager and works with individuals, institutions, and not-for-profit organizations. His responsibilities include management of the individual taxable and tax-exempt fixed income portfolios. Richard also oversees the divisions marketing strategies. He has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry.
Prior to joining First Business, he was a Financial Advisor at MorganStanley where his duties included business development, client service and portfolio management. Richard began his career at U.S. Bank, where he held various financial and investment management positions including Senior Portfolio Manager for U.S. Bank Asset Management. In that role, he was responsible for managing taxable and tax-exempt portfolios for individuals, corporations and foundations.
Richard is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he earned a degree in economics. He holds both the CFA and CFP® designations. His charitable commitments include acting as Vice President of The Friends for Financial Literacy board and as Chairman of the board for Sharing Resources Worldwide. He also enjoys volunteering at Luke House.
